HISTORY
The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Houston was founded in 2003 by Lilly Andress in collaboration with The Salvation Army representative Major Dorris Gonzalez. Thirty-three distinguished community leaders joined as charter members as a show of support for The Salvation Army with Lilly serving as the first SAWA president. They chose the butterfly as their symbol, representing new beginnings.
